I love these posters! As a reaction to the success of the 2009 Guimarães Jazz posters the artists ‘based the graphical decision on the idea that Jazz could be colorful and fun, still maintaining audacity and sensuality. As the starting conceptual idea we thought about a story of seduction. Where you may see personages, you can also see instruments a dialogue between different sounds, harmonies and personalities.’ I love how the colors in these poster designs really emulate the color trends of 2010. The bright turquoise and, my personal favorite, the combination of pink and black. I think an interesting practice would be go through past color trend and create faux posters for specific time periods. These posters could be presented in an exhibition where people try to guess what time period they are modeled after.
